Accessibility fixes for Shopify stores, made in the theme itself.

Shopify gives you a solid platform, but the accessibility of your storefront depends on your theme, how it's been customized, and the apps you've added. That's where ADA complaints find their failures, and that's where we fix them.

How we work on a Shopify store

  1. Theme-only access. You add us as a collaborator with the Themes permission. We don't need, and can't see, your orders, customers or payments.
  2. A duplicate theme. We fix a copy, so your live store is never touched until you approve and publish.
  3. Fixes in Liquid, CSS and JavaScript, section by section, not a script layered over the page. Your theme customizations and app embeds stay in place.
  4. Verification like a plaintiff's tester would do it: the full path from home page to checkout with keyboard only, NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone.
  5. Before-and-after report, then three months of monitoring that re-scans when your theme or apps change.

Apps and checkout

Many failures come from apps rather than your theme. Where an app's output can be corrected through the theme or the app's settings, we correct it. Where it can't, the report names the app, the failure, and what to ask its developer for, so you have it in writing.

Shopify runs the checkout itself, so most of it is outside any theme. We test it anyway as part of the purchase path, fix what your branding settings and checkout extensions control, and record anything that is Shopify's to fix.

What we don't promise. We are engineers, not lawyers, and nothing here is legal advice. No vendor can certify a store as "ADA compliant"; there is no certifying body. We remove the barriers, verify that a keyboard and screen-reader user can complete a purchase, and document the work so your attorney can use it.

Questions

Do you need my Shopify password?

No. Collaborator access with the Themes permission only. You can remove it the moment the work is done.

Will my store look different?

Almost every fix is invisible to sighted shoppers. The exception is colour contrast: a few pale colours may get one notch darker, and you approve those before anything goes live.

Does Dawn or another Shopify theme already handle this?

Shopify's own themes start in better shape than many third-party ones, but most stores customize them and add apps. Complaints are written against the store as it is today, which is what we scan.

What about Shopify Plus and headless stores?

Plus stores on a standard theme are covered by the normal tiers. Headless storefronts are quoted from the scan.
